Incredible Testimonial from Guitar Student John
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Fun Stuff on February 28th, 2010
I always enjoy sharing these wonderful testimonials…and this one is one of the best.
Hello Steve,
I’m a recent purchaser and practitioner of your guitar course.
I’d like to thank you for the work you have put into the course, it’s truly remarkable. But it’s even more than that fro me.
I’m a recovering alcoholic and the guitar has become something that helps keep me on the wagon and a large part of it are your lessons. Your calm demeanour and teaching style really are a pleasure for a turbulent mind, i really look forward to my lessons with steve.
Your work has really been a positive force in my life and i thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Enough gasbaging from me, gotta go practice.
Thanks
John
Great Testimonial from our Discussion Board
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Fun Stuff on February 16th, 2010
Just had to share this from our Learn & Master Guitar discussion board…for those who don’t know, Steve’s wife is currently battling breast cancer.
You’re both in my prayers. I must thank you Steve. You have changed my life. If it weren’t for L&M Guitar and now the Blues Spotlight Series, I would never played guitar. I started last Mar 13th and followed the program religiously. Then in November, bought the spotlight series for Blues guitar. I love to play. In my wildest dreams I never believed I could play, much less get up in front of someone. Now I can and I am having a great deal of fun with life again. Thanks for caring so much for people and sharing the gift of music God has bestowed on you with people like me. I’m eternally grateful and pray you and your wife share a long life together.
Regards,

Unforgettable Christmas for One Learn & Master Guitar Customer
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Fun Stuff on January 30th, 2010
We recently got the following email from a Learn & Master Guitar customer. As I say so often, we are truly changing lives. It’s what makes every single day so incredibly awesome.
I just LOVE this!
Steve,
I had an experience this Christmas that I wanted to share with you.
I’ve been playing for almost 2 years now, currently working on Session 13. From the very beginning, I have played for my extended family—even Jingle Bells. Hey, it’s an easy audience!
My wife Kim is a naturally good singer, but she’s a little shy about it, so we generally just sing together on easy sing-alongs and stuff. It’s always fun, and of course the family acts like it’s a big deal, so it makes us feel good, even though we know full well how amateurish we really are.
This year, her parents asked us to perform “Vincent (Starry Starry Night)” by Don McLean for our Christmas get-together. This request turned out to be a bit of a challenge for us, but we were determined to give it our best shot. Kim decided she’d sing solo, so I was able to concentrate on working out a simple, pleasant fingerpicking pattern for the harmony. We rehearsed several times, and eventually got comfortable with it.
The Christmas recital featured 6 songs, both instrumentals (the ones I did for your CD this year) and sing-alongs. We saved “Vincent” for last. Of course, the first 5 songs were met with the kind of response you’d expect from loving family members—enthusiastic appreciation, sweetly disproportionate to any musical merit. But as we closed out “Vincent”, Kim’s mother and our sister-in-law literally jumped out of their seats, clapping and hollering. This wasn’t just the feign of familiarity—Kim’s mother had tears in her eyes she was so moved, and so Kim started crying, and then we all had a good laugh. What a blessing!
Despite the glowing commentary from the devoted on-line community members, I suspect it still may be hard for you to grasp the role you are playing in people’s lives. But there is no question that without the LMG program, the musical element my family is now experiencing (and starting to really enjoy!) would be completely missing. This is the gift that you and the folks at Legacy have bestowed upon all of us. And for that gift, I would like to offer you my sincere thanks.

Too Far Away for Guitar Lessons…
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Fun Stuff, Legacy News on January 23rd, 2010
What a great Christmas gift! Here is an email from one of our recent customers, Michael, about his Christmas gift from his wife.
I’ve been meaning to learn guitar for years and finally got encouraged by a
friend to do so. I live far enough away from town that finding a teacher
and taking regular lessons would be impractical. I found the Learn and
Master Guitar program on-line and my wife bought it for me for Christmas.
As an engineer, I am finding the lessons to be very well-structured and
helpful in building a solid base as I move forward in my education. I
relate the sight reading to learning touch typing decades ago; I figure that
with enough practice and repetition, reading music will become instinctive.
And that’s pretty darned cool.I just now discovered that you have discussion boards, so I plan on visiting
them in the very near future with my questions. So, thank you very much for your product!
Better than Private and Group Lessons!
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Affiliate Encouragement on January 18th, 2010
Why are our Learn & Master courses better than private lessons and group lessons? And what does this mean for you affiliates promoting our courses?
There are a lot of reasons our courses are the best option for many people. Some of them include:
- Cheaper - The average private lesson in America is $50/hour. For less than the cost of three private lessons, you can buy one of our courses. Group lessons vary in price from $10-20 per lesson. Our courses are significantly cheaper than both options.
- Go at your own pace - Need a week off for a business trip? No problem! Have an emergency? No problem! Private lessons usually require a 24 hour notice to cancel a lesson. Not exactly viable when you have to work late or are stuck in traffic or waiting for a flight or have an emergency that day. Miss a group lesson and you miss an entire topic and are now behind and it’s hard to catch up. With our courses, you go at your own page. Pop in the DVDs when you want to. Skip a day, watch them at midnight in your pajamas, or schedule time every single day but pause and rewind as needed.
- Convenience - What can be easier than learning at home? No traveling. No waiting. No packing up your instrument and risking damage. You learn from home…your home.
- No Embarrassment - Let’s face it, most guys don’t want to learn Ballroom Dancing in a group or well…anywhere except for home. Many men and women are easily embarrassed and want to learn in an environment where they can not worry about what others think. Our courses allow you to do just that!
Nicholas, who works at the U.S. Embassy in Belgium, shared his story about beginning Learn & Master Guitar with us recently…it sums up the convenience of our courses and reminded us of four of our great selling points!
Steve, I am a diplomat assigned to the US Embassy in Brussels, Belgium and to say the least I have no regular schedule and much stress as well. I am a beginner guitar player and took some of your tips to heart, especially dedicating practice time and keep my sessions to 15-20 minutes and then put my guitar down and walk away. I enjoy playing through the exercises and will not proceed to the next lesson, until I have completed the previous one to my satisfaction. I think the philosophy of “small bites” and giving time to digest the material is well said. Keep the tips coming and I am enjoying your teaching style and approach.
Take care, Nicholas.
Great Email from a Customer in Zimbabwe
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Fun Stuff, Legacy News on January 16th, 2010
I hope your weekend is going well.
I just LOVE these emails that Steve passes along to me from our customers. This one is from Ron in Zimbabwe. It’s great to have customers all over the world!
Hi Steve
Your professional and caring approach supports the fact that you have produced the best guitar learning experience I have ever seen or used.
I live in Zimbabwe and am a real guitar enthusiast who started playing about 4 years ago. There are very few decent guitar teachers in Zimbabwe so I had to rely on the massive range of both internet and hard copy guitar tutorial programs that are available to learn.
Believe me, I have a study full of books, DVD’s, CD’s and internet material and I had become somewhat lost because I was overwhelmed by the mass of guitar learning material I had accumulated.
I was trying to learn from it all and making little real progress.
Anyway then I learned about Learn and Master Guitar which I now own and wow! What a pleasure. It has had the effect of bringing sanity, control, understanding and direction to my learning.
Thanks a lot!
One Year and Still Learning - Great Customer Testimonial
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Legacy News on January 3rd, 2010
Our Learn and Master Guitar discussion board has a great testimonial recently from a student who is celebrating his 1-year anniversary of starting the course. He is still learning and working his way lessons 15-17. Here is what he had to say:
It is 12 months since I started L&MG. I had a very basic knowledge of Guitar & how to read music. I picked up L&MG at Session 5, which was a realistic assessment of where my skills were.
As encouragement to beginners or members who come in at about same level as I did, to answer the question “Where will I be in 12 months?”
I can confidently perform all the skills taught in L&MG up to about Session 14. I am working on 15, 16 & 17 simultaneously at the moment. I have, and still do, devote a lot of time to practice, but I like all here have fallen in love with Guitar so it is a labour of love to practice.
I dont have a lot of songs in my repotoire because I have concentrated all my time on learning, drilling & practicing the core basic skills. I am now devoting time to learning some songs.I mention this as my L&MG Anniversary looms & to pass the encouragment to those who are just beginning the journey that your results are in direct proportion to the effort you put in. My personal rule is that every day I get the Guitar in my hands regardless of what is happening, even if all the time I have is for a quick 10 minute scale practice.
Skill acquisition is accumulative over time, if you do it then it builds up to a level of proficiency based on skill, dedication & determination to achieve.Where will I be in 12 Months? No Idea? I do know I will still be playing, still practicing & still thank the good lord that every time I take Mr Strat out for a run I am playing the greatest guitar created in the known universe
Thanks Steve.
Wonderful Testimonial from our Discussion Board

Steve Krenz, our instructor for Learn and Master Guitar, shared a testimonial with us today from one of our Learn and Master Guitar students that I wanted to pass along to you. I just love it when we get such awesome feedback! It is from Tony in Quebec, Canada.
Hello Steve and everyone at LMG, just wanted to share my progress with all of you and hopefully send some positive vibes your way, I have now just completed session 4 and loved it so much I decided to stay here a little longer just to really make sure I take all the time I need to let it sink in once and for all.
How can I describe the feeling of when it finally came to me, the reading of music I mean, which I never really paid much attention to before in the past, I would probably say it was a musical orgasm, WOW I could not believe my ears and eyes, my fingers having a mind of their own and they kept hitting the right note, chord, string its just unbelievable the feeling and I wish it upon all of you who are struggling right now, do NOT give up, it will come sooner than you think.
Steve I just wanted to let you know your course is by far the best I’ve seen that’s out there, and trust me when I say this because I wasted a lot of money on courses that promise you to play like Jimmy Hendrix in just one week and for all of you here at LMG, we now know that is a load of !$^&,I mean regular practice with the dreaded gnome pays off big time believe me, just your course itself is awesome but what really puts it all together for me is your discussion board and all the wonderful people with such great advice…the list goes on and on there is way to many of you to mention, but thank you guys and gals for such awesome posts and I am on every day and just love the advice…..keep up the great work everyone and I must say that I am proud to be part of LMG and with this being said God bless and rock on-Tony
Wonderful Painting Testimonial Today

A New Lease on Life - Learn and Master Guitar Testimonial
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Fun Stuff, Legacy News on September 26th, 2009
I truly do love getting these emails. Here is a recent story from a customer named Wes that was sent to Steve Krenz, the instructor for Learn and Master Guitar.
As our affiliates, you are responsible for impacting the lives of people like this. Thanks for doing such important work!
I had to retire early because of my health. I admit a period of boredom and self-pity. I was motivated by my old band mates to pick up my guitar after 40 years. About the same time some higher power, call it what you will, directed me to your L&MG course… I had exhaustively searched for a good self-taught course. I can never remember being so excited about such a challenge. My friends, kids (they call me their sixties burn-out, LOL) and even my doctor say I haven’t been the same emotionally and physically. Without sounding overly dramatic, you have literally given me my life back. My 40 year old goals of being a rock/blues star have been replaced by a more demanding one: to be the best I possible can be. How cool is that??
Thank you for my new lease on life.
-Wes
Have a great rest of the weekend!

Thank you for opening a new world to me through Learn & Master Painting. I had always thought that one was either an artist or not. I wanted to paint, but never thought it was possible because I don’t feel that I have an artistic bone in my body. I now realize that I was missing the technique that would get me to the point where I could use my own artistic expression. I do not have any type of artistic background, but I have always wanted to paint. I am very analytical, total left brained. I never thought I could paint. But, Gayle provides easy step-by-step instructions. Wow, I can paint! I have to say that Gayle is very endearing. She seems very genuine and down to earth. I don’t feel she’s talking down to me and I feel like she really cares about my success. If I were to take an in-person art class, Gayle is the instructor I would want to have.

A Couple Shares Their Testimonials
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Fun Stuff, Legacy News on July 25th, 2009
Recently we received a few emails from a couple in the United Kingdom that has purchased our guitar, piano, drums, and even our Learn and Master Painting course that comes out in August. They received a preview/unfinished version of the painting course. Here is what they had to say:
It was with great interest that I bought the ‘learn and Master Painting’ programme. Painting is always something I wanted to do but thought it would be something I never did because I never had painting classes and at this stage of my life finding a painting class isn’t an option. I was concerned however how I would fare with a DVD based learning course because there is no interaction between the teacher and myself - or so I thought.
From the start your programme has greatly impressed me. The teacher is marvelous and explains everything clearly and concisely. She also breaks everything down so simply that I had no problem following her. I found that there is plenty of time for me to follow instructions without having to lag behind.
All through the series I’ve seen how it has been planned methodicaly and I really liked how it is all broken down into stages and steps which I have to master before moving on to the next stage.
Obviously once the actual painting began it was a far more interesting course to study but I’m glad I spent so long getting to know how my studio should be laid out and how to create my palette and the different consistencies of paint first.
I would definitely recommend this course to any of my friends interested in developing their creativity. It is a stress free relaxing experience which will be truly enjoyed by all and it is very competently run by an excellent instructor.
I especially enjoyed learning all of the Brushwork Teqniques and how to do them. The instructions were really clear and ample practise time was given during the session. I also liked the way I’ve been encouraged to experiment and find my own unique style of painting. This course has given me the fundamentals neccesary to start, perfect and complete my own painting.
I couldn’t have asked for a better painting course to suit me and i’ve found the whole experience a truely enjoyable one!
Many Thanks
That is from the wife. Then the husband sent in his own note of thanks.
I just wanted to express my deep gratitude for the work you’ve been doing with Legacy Learning. I’ve previously purchased your guitar, piano and drums courses and have enjoyed each one immensely (I finished the piano one earlier this week!). Your instructors are all brilliantly chosen, and they are each clearly passionate about their chosen instrument (or paintbrush!), which cannot but carry over into their teaching. You are truly “teaching men to fish”! My wife is really looking forward to starting this course for real in the near future, and I’m sure it will be an enriching experience for her.
Thanks Simon and Nechoma. You are the reason we do this. Bringing Personal Dreams Within Reach…
Coming Next Month: Learn and Master Painting
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Legacy News on July 23rd, 2009
| Learn and Master Painting has finished shooting, editing, writing, and is now at press. Soon, it will be ready for shipping!
We still do not have a firm official launch date, but it will be sometime in the month of August. We shipping a few introductory courses a few months ago and already the feedback is astounding! Here is what people are saying already: |

Learn and Master Painting is a stress free, relaxing experience to be truly enjoyed by everyone who goes through the course, and it is very competently run by an excellent instructor. I couldn’t have asked for a better painting course to suit me and I’ve found the whole experience a truly enjoyable one!
-Nechoma Schwab
Instructions are clear, precise, and relevant and the steps to a completed painting are small enough to remember. The ease of use, particularly using baby oil to clean brushes, and the wonderful effects created have made me want to do something I NEVER thought I would want to do - paint with oils.
-Doreen Davis
I’ve been trying to paint with oils off and on for sixty years. The first few lessons of this course told me exactly what I’ve been doing wrong. After all those years, I’m finally going to learn to paint. I’ve already recommended the course to friends without seeing the rest of the DVDs.
-Elsie Bolack
Gayle is a gem! As a complete beginner, I now feel I have the basics to achieve my goals as an artist. She is thorough and does an excellent job explaining the basics yet still reveals the secrets of achieving the skill of an advanced painter. I will be going through this course more than once! There is so much here to learn and she is the perfect teacher.
-Melanie Cryar
Each lesson of Learn and Master Painting was my favorite. If you want to learn to oil paint this is the course for you. We’ve watched other artists instructional courses on TV and most of them skip over the basics and jump right into difficult painting leaving the student lost and frustrated. But Gayle patiently and thoroughly takes you through every step from arranging your studio to caring for your equipment properly so that you can acquire a skill that you will enjoy for a lifetime.

Heart-Warming Testimonial From a Customer
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Legacy News on July 9th, 2009
Earlier today, Steve Krenz, the instructor for our Learn and Master Guitar course, shared an awesome testimonial with all of us. He does this occasionally and it always serves a great reminder of why we do what we do. He shares only a few of the hundreds upon hundreds (our office is full of them) warm messages like this that he receives every day, and this one was a special one to me.
Here is an excerpt of it below. You can read the entire letter as well.
Dear Steve,
I purchased Learn and Master the guitar in June and have been playing almost daily since…
In a word… no a word won’t do… in many words… wow, amazing, fantastic, great, awesome, and incredible.
I am so impressed with the quality and the content of the program. I am also impressed with your magnificent teaching ability and that expressed through a DVD! I feel like I am sitting right in front of you and I am wholly relaxed while I learn…. I play with along with you, listen intently to you, laugh with you and marvel at the your timing of comments… it is almost uncanny…
Somewhere I read that your program was probably the best out there but was expensive. I was expecting to find out it cost $600 or something… to my delight I purchased your bonus program for the sale price of $149! That is certainly NOT expensive…
I just want to encourage you and thank you for all you have provided. I pray that the Lord continues to bless you and your family and I look forward to one day meeting you… if not here then at home with Him in glory. So Steve, thanks. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.
It’s days like these that it is just easy to work, despite the lack of sleep last night :) Thanks Dave!
The Heart of Our Mission
Posted by Matt McWilliams in Legacy News on June 18th, 2009
At Legacy Learning Systems, our mission statement is “Bringing Personal Dreams Within Reach.”
Sometimes, that gets lost in the fury of deadlines, sales projections, and all of the things that go with a business that every single day is growing bigger and bigger.
And then we get something like this. We get emails and letters almost every day thanking us, but some just hit me more than others, so I though I would share this with you. It is from a gentleman from Portland, Oregon.
I’m sure you get a thousand thank you letters a week so if you don’t get to this one I understand.
I just had to stop and say THANK YOU so much for your instruction. I owned my guitars for YEARS and never took the time to really learn to play them. Like most I just hacked at chords and bought books and DVDs thinking they would be the magic bullet to make me better.
Your course has shown me that practice every day with a good teacher (you) is what has been missing from my musical journey.
I have just delved into Session 5 but I can already see that my eyes are wide open now to the wonders and joys that the guitar has in store for me.
You have taught me more than just how to play guitar, but how to focus on a goal and stick to it.
You have changed my life and I can’t thank you enough.
God bless you and I look forward to jamming with you in person at a seminar some day.
